“I saw firsthand how palliative care transformed my daughter’s experience and knew everyone deserved the same.”
Our Story
A Legacy of Care
Our founder and CEO, Dr. Dave Thimons, has dedicated his career to caring for older adults. He built his medical practice on a foundation of personalized, patient-centered care, guided by a simple principle: provide the same care we would want for our own loved ones.
This commitment became deeply personal when Dr. Thimons’ daughter, Kaelyn “Rose,” was diagnosed with Stage IV Ewing Sarcoma at just 12 years old. Like so many families facing a life-limiting illness, they found themselves on a journey no parent is ever prepared to navigate.
Throughout her treatment, Kaelyn received exceptional palliative care that supported not only her medical needs but also her emotional well-being, comfort, and quality of life. Experiencing the profound difference this care made for their family left a lasting impact on Dr. Thimons. It reinforced his belief that compassionate, person-centered care should extend beyond treating illness to supporting the whole person and those who love them.
Inspired by Kaelyn’s journey, Dr. Thimons expanded his vision of care to ensure that older adults and their families receive the same level of support, dignity, and compassion that meant so much to his own family during their most difficult time.
After Kaelyn successfully overcame her cancer diagnosis, Dr. Thimons pursued advanced training in palliative medicine. Over the past decade, he has devoted himself to building innovative clinical programs and interdisciplinary care teams focused on improving the lives of individuals living with serious illness. His work has spanned hundreds of communities and partnerships with clinicians nationwide, consistently delivering meaningful outcomes for patients, families, and healthcare organizations.
Today, The Rose Program a physician-led, patient-centered medical practice, carries forward the lessons learned from Kaelyn’s journey. Our teams provide compassionate, goal-concordant care grounded in trust, dignity, and human connection. We show up. We listen. We build meaningful relationships with patients, families, and care teams, becoming a trusted part of the communities we serve.
